Great idea. Great use of an empty building. We should be encouraging more of this as there are too many empty shops in the city centre especially in Union Street.

The building housing the village lay empty and suffering damp before these folks moved in. These are people who are trying to establish themselves as businesses rather than joining the dole queque.The big conglomerates don't want the high street or the old town so why make it impossible for this wonderful endeavour to succeed

The Highland and Western Isles valuation appeal committee should go to Specsavers if they can not see that The Village is made from multiple independant retailers, unbelievable!!!!

We must do all we can to save this shining light of indy retail in a city centre dominated by vacant units, hmos, bookies and cash for golds. Our city centre has 2 futures, one with the village showing if folk work together we can change our city centre and attract and create more indy businesses or one that is in terminal decline pandering to bookies and legal loansharks.

Certain members of our council are more concerned with what is happening in the Middle East, than what is happening on their doorstep. We need to encourage Free enterprise and re-vitelise the city centre. We have a simple choice; a re energised city centre that caters for all buisnesses, or a city centre that is only good for the night life. Simple choice eh.

Inverness has a lot going for it. It has some really lovely places around the town, the Ness Islands, Bellfield Park and some nice old buildings...if you look skyward! Some buildings are badly in need of repair, find out who owns them and make them responsible for the repairs. Inverness is also surrounded by beautiful countryside we should be proud of it.

It is good to suport the small trader in our towm centre which is becoming a desert for independent sellers.
