Scotland needs to keep its innovation and small businesses alive. I want to see more of these things in Inverness, as for most of us, it's the only large town for miles.

They talk about the town centre being run down, would it not be better to reduce the rates and have businesses, rather than have the charges so high there are only empty buildings

This may not be your typical shop but it's a damn sight better than any of the gambling and loan company shops. Inverness needs innovation.

If the Council is serious about saving Inverness old town they need to rreverse this decision so the wonderful and innovative venture can survive.

The village is obviuosly made up by seprate business and should be treated as such, The Eastgate doesnt get charged as one shop so why should the village. Exactly same set-up just a smaller scale with less fat cats to grease palms.

They spend thousands on consultants - millions on streetscape and then stomp on great enterprise. Disgusting decision - lets hope they see sense. Maybe Mr Hendry should step up and be counted to support local business.

Not only are they going to empty another building in Inverness, they're going to leave a lot of kids with no where to go, the village is something that is really special to a lot of people

who cares about walls in between the business. it makes it seem more open and welcoming to everyone to come and have a look it also brightems up the place with the colours of the different businesses.

2013, the first year in how long that there hasn’t been a midnight curfew on bars and clubs in Inverness? Probably the only time I’ve felt any elation towards the Highland Council. But fair enough, the people spoke: you reacted. Things changed. Isn’t that a well-oiled machine? Then I saw this petition. Seriously, how backwards are you? What century do you believe you are living in? As far as I was aware, regional councils work closely with the reigning Government to implement strategic ideals for a prosperous nation, if so, why on this small blue planet are you trying to stop start up entrepreneurial activities in Inverness? This is obviously a facilitator to generate income for your town. Are you not aware of how ridiculous your rent and rates are currently? There’s a direct correlation between the high rent and the fact your City Centre is full of charity shops and indeed empty units. If you want to kick start the local economy, it’s not difficult, not only will you see people being able to run businesses but you’ll also see people actually venturing out off the Eastgate Shopping Centre or your beloved Tesco and buying something from an Invernessian business, what a strange concept but damnit, it just might work! For once, be the catalyst; work with local people instead of against them.
