I can't believe this is at risk already. The Village was a great addition to Inverness' town centre and was a much appreciated. What else do we have in the town centre? All I see are closed down shops and two soulless shopping centres. It's time to start acting like a city and support small, independent businesses by encouraging and nurturing them. Make the effort. I assume it's much easier to sweep this under the rug or close down The Village because it's too much effort - but what message does that send to budding entrepreneurs in Inverness and the Highlands? They will go elsewhere - somewhere they are welcome. Please, instead of taking the easy route, do everything in your power to ensure the success of The Village.

This is a shocking decision. The Village brings a lot to the city centre and should be supported.

I've enjoyed The Village since it started last year, but I didn't really realise how unique it was until I wanted to set up a pop up charity shop this Christmas at short notice....we looked at lots of vacant units, tried to set up a partnership with a local community centre - but it was only The Village that had the flexibility and 'let's make it happen' attitude that we needed for our project...Inverness would be a worse place without it for so many reasons...it must stay!!
