Save Our Village

The Village plays an active role in helping the community all around. Many local businesses and areas of the community rely on the shops contained within it and I think if the eastgate center was shut down it would probably be missed less. I am completely appalled at the decision, I have never been under the impression that these shops are joined and the boundaries of them are very clear. This is a cheap attack on the inner city of inverness to grab more money out of the poorer businesses which is both counter productive and directly against government policy to help small businesses grow. If the Village was conserved the businesses inside will grow and hopefully expand to more local business on our highstreet and make room for new start up businesses. If this decision is not overruled I am moving away from Inverness as I feel underrepresented by my local council and feel like if the council could attack these people it could happen to me. Maybe Perth has better opportunities to offer...

The village is making a positive impact on a once desolate street. Enforcing this rate and thus the unavoidable closure of those small businesses in the village will only surmount to yet another nail in the coffin of the Inverness Town centre

ridiculous decision given the council's concerns for the decline in the city centre. Make decisions based on reason not rules.

Inverness needs a balance. In Italy the historical town centres are works of art! Don't destroy the heart of the city. Tourists don't visit to see Tesco!!! Invest in the small buisnesses cause they're the heartbeat of the city.

The lack of interesting places in Inverness is shocking, closing this just puts another nail in the coffin

Very sad that the decision makers seem to have a background in enterprise

great vibe at the village makes you feel comfortable and is one of the only.places that seem to make me want to come back, is very diffrent to other shops and would be a real shame for all the decent buisnesses that are there.

This is a draconian and short sighted decision, penalising an enterprising group of local business people who are breathing life into the dying heart of Inverness. We need a council with a vision for the future, not one which welcomes in big business while choking off local initiatives.

It is good to see some individuality return to ANY town and to the town centre in particular. we need something different to the large chains who want to be in out-of-town retail parks!

small traders need all the help they can get in the face of competition from large global companies and the town centre needs small traders to keep it alive

Help stop Inverness from looking like every other high street in the country, the village is quickly becoming the creative, cultural hub of the city!
