And people wonder why town centres are gradually being killed off. Here's hoping that the committee sees sense and reverses its decision.

It is appalling that the government are willing to let global companies off from paying taxes, even grant them billions of pounds to operate within the country yet a local council will semmingly not stop at anything to prevent a local business from prospering. Shameful!

This is Highland Council cutting off it's nose to spite it's face. They are stifling grass roots enterprise in the city centre and the only outcome from this can be yet another empty unit in Inverness. It is madness and reeks of incompetence.

not only providing employment but allowing small start up businesses and those who would be unable to trade elsewhere due to phenomenal overheads .. they are also occupying a building that would lay empty as business collapse due to poor profits as a result of huge rates etc.. the word is spread of their existence encouraging shoppers to city centre and bring other high street/side street traders money that may well have been missed in the inverness town.. keep them and don't let yet another building lay empty.

It seems clear to the diverse customer base that the Village is not one retail outlet, but rather a number of small businesses operating under one roof. If the concept of 'malls' is comprehensible by the local authority - why is The Village so difficult? Independent retailers banding together shoudl surely be supported, rather than discouraged.

Beurocracy gone mad. small businesses find it hard enough, surely hey should be encouraged in this financial climate. We do not want just the giant multinational shops. We need more diversity beofre our high streets all look the same.

Regeneration of our town centre is vital to maintaining the hub of our city. Encouraging entrepreneurial spirit will be become more challenging when the council does not appear to be supportive with their decisions. Come on HRC show some support to your local community.

Wrong decision! The Village is not a single shop, it has varied and distinct businesses within its premises. A creative and innovative collective which brings jobs, choice and colour to our quickly decaying town centre. It must stay open!

How idiotic a ruling is that? A blind man could see this is NOT one store, and I always enjoy visiting The Village when in Inverness.
