This is how LHA could salvage something positive from this unfortunate situation: LHA should admit it has handled this matter poorly and end it now, before additional expense is incurred for unnecessary mediation and litigation. (Remember - these are OUR funds LHA is spending!) LHA should apologize to Marcie's and Bret's family for its bullying attitude and unwarranted conclusions/actions about their family tree house, causing them such unnecessary anxiety, time, and expense. LHA should spend time seriously, and publicly, considering how to change the LHA Board's attitude toward homeowners, from one that is dictatorial and abusive, to one that is collaborative and civil. LHA embarrasses itself and our whole neighborhood when it behaves vindictively and irrationally to one of us. I certainly don't want to be "represented" by a handful of people who treat any of us this way. LHA limited resources are also diverted in unproductive ways that serve none of us well. Time for change!!!

I live in Pennsylvania and I think this is such a waste of time a child's tree house use your efforts money and time on something more important like helping children in need.
The treehouse does not violate any codes. It is well-structured, safe and visually lovely. Any HOA that would spend thousands of homeowners' hard-earned dollars to fight the right of a few adorable kids to have their backyard treehouse...well, let's just say that this type of authority trip should not be encouraged in any organization, much less an HOA. HOA folks...just do what you're supposed to do...do what your homeowners pay you to do...keep the community clean, safe and up-to-code. And try to recall being a child. How would you feel?

I think the tree house is just amazing. What kid wouldn't want one like it. It isn't remotely a nuisance. Please do not use my dues to litigate against this. I consider it an irresponsible and wasteful use of dues money. Why not use it for something that actually enhances our neighborhood?
