Enough of hoping our kids are safe crossing the street with huge yellow blinking lights to get traffic to stop. I lived in Seattle where crosswalks were treated as a red light for traffic to stop. People in MN ignore them and put others at risk.

Currently the decision rests with MN DOT, and per the officer from Chanhassen that I spoke with earlier "there haven't been enough accidents" to warrant a light at that intersection. OHHHHHHHH! Yes, let's wait until some kids get killed (and just what exactly is your "number" (of deaths/accidents) and who decides what this "number" is? Hey, pull your heads out of your asses so you can see that this is a freakin' school zone. At the minimum, there needs to be a reduced school zone speed! Sheesh!

In addition to a school zone designation, I would like to see a stop light put in.

A safe passage to school should be a given- no child should ever be scared for their life crossing a road to get to school. Where is it we live?
