There are not enough chip readers across the USA to identify microchipped horses. While this is a good step, horses need a freeze brand for quick identification when attempting to rescue them, be it from abusive situations or the many kill pens.
Please continue to freeze brand.

Please help these magnificent animals. Keep the freeze brand on the horses so the rescue people can identify them , and try to save them from this very inhumane ending.

To save them and all you have to identify them is a picture a micro ship is useless. Don't count on the kill pens to scan them either.

PLEASE keep the freezebrands! That is one of the best things for these horses. I wish all breeds had a way to identify them. It is so great to be able to look up a brand and actually be able to learn who your horse is and where he came from, etc. Very few breeds have that, and it is wonderful! Also, it makes it easy to identify that they are Standardbreds so they can be rescued from the slaughter pipeline. There are many that search for them to save these wonderful horses from a horrible end; why would you want to make them be just another unidentifiable bay horse, when they are so much more than that?!? Please reconsider...

I am the proud owner of a rescue Standardbred. He is a gentle soul who gave every ounce he had for those who tossed him aside when he no longer won money for their greedy little selves. The quest to save these amazing animals will remain in the fore as long as needed. We won’t go away!
