It is our human responsibility to do all that we can to safeguard the lives of the horses brought into existence to race for us. How dare you NOT do all that you can?

no horse should go to slaughter that is not raised for consumption. Standardbreds could be rehomed easily

I have had Standardbreds in my life for more years than I want to admit to. I was a groom, licensed trainer, and have worked in rescue and rehoming Standardbreds. The freezebrand is the best safety net we have in identifying our amazing horses. This is important especially in 'kill pens' when scanning for microchips is impossible. Keep the freezebrand or horses champ stamp.

A freezebrand is their last lifeline and has been proven to save so many usefull lives every year over an over. Our breed is constantly in demand for all disciplines because of their Adaptability and Versatility. We given them the skills from the day we put a halter on them. They have trusted us. Don't stop freeze branding. It's their last lifeline.

Please keep the visual method of ID (freeze brand) along with the microchip. After serving our "needs", we owe it to our Standardbreds.

Please save our Standardbreds from slaughter. They who have raced their hearts out, entertained us, supported us when they were racing, do not deserve to die at the slaughter house!

Worked with Standardbreds for many years. It's unfortunate that these great Theresa are sent off to horrific conditions before they are slaughtered

Freeze brand is the easiest way to identify those racing. The less that go to slaughter, the better the image of the racing industry will be. No horse deserves this.

Eliminating freeze brands makes each and every Standardbred, just another brown horse. Where is the common sense in that?

What once was a desired colt or filly born into this world with the hopes of becoming the next champion but later finds himself in a kill pen surrounded by others that want to hurt him. Can we save them without the identification of a freezebrand, maybe a handful but most would fall short and meet their demise. Let us please help these noble creatures.
