No matter how you all try to spin this, out here we all can see straight thru your agenda and it's in no way good for any standardbred bred to serve you . That's exactly what they do. Serve you all, give everything they have and then you think because they bring a good buck to some Amishman you're free and clear of responsibility. You are NOT. Your motives for dispensing are well known and every single standardbred you all sell will one day stand defeated in a sale to ship to slaughter for a horrific end and we will NOT let that die with them. You all do not have any compassion for a living bonded athlete you all created for one purpose only , to race, for you, no one else, no other industry. Every member knows every standardbred they sell mainly to the Amish will be in a slaughter pen to head to their death. That is unacceptable and you all are responsible by association knowing full well this is what happens. It's disgraceful that Hanover and Russ are the only ones who thru the years have acknowledged this crisis and did what was right and no matter the differences here , Russ , it seems is the only one with a conscience who the industry is using putting him in that position of President, knowing it puts him between a rock and that hard place, The freeze brand you well know is the only quick hope of IDing any standardbred in a crowd of horses in some sale. You all deliberately did away with this for your own personnel gain so members don't get called and have to stress going on a guilt trip ! More may be missed and ship but we will still save those we can and do ID and we will still be calling! Right now you all look real bad to those out here and it's been said by many you all really don't care and no one cares on the inside now with on line betting. Crowds don't matter a

Anyone who cares about the welfare of these horses knows they deserve to have the easy identification. If a trainer or owner doesn’t want to be contacted on a horse in the future then put a icon on their contact info so people know not to reach out to them or bother them. These freezebrands help people identify them quickly and see if they have a full circle contact. Also people like knowing the history of their horses.

USTA removal of Freezebrands to identify horses is just another attempt for racing industries to hide the fact of thousands of racing Standardbred horses are being slaughtered yearly. They want to cover up their GREED at the expense of a LIFE!! USTA is CONDONING SLAUGHTER when they should be holding owners accountable! Dispicable and another black mark they are putting on their own industry!

I understand very well why you want to use micro-chipping on racehorses, but you have to remember that not every horse will become a Hambletonian winner. Those who don't do well in horseracing and when I mean those thousands per year will have more of an opportunity to enter the pipeline to slaughter, is very unfair to those who ran their hearts out, will leave a bitter taste to those who do not believe this is fair to the horses, sometimes you need to think outside the box to be a real winner. I hope the USTA will consider accepting the freeze branding also good source of Identification.

If not for their freezebrands, both of my fostered Standardbreds would have shipped to Canada where they would have ended up canned or on some human's plate. Neither mare deserved the atrocities the experienced while in the direct ship to slaughter pen. I wholeheartedly disagree with USTA's decision to remove the freezebrand requirement.

Anyone who would "be okay" with slaughtering horses would change their mind and open their hearts if they actually SAW how slaughter is excruciating terrifying and SHOCKING , realizing that THE VERY SPECIES WHO GAINED HUMANS TRUST ,COMBINED with the FACTS that THEY are kind, sensitive loving and TRUSTING of Human Beings- WOULD, at THE VERY LEAST, allow them the SAME EMPATHY and HUMANE TREATMENT as CAT and DOGS, and to AT The VERY LEAST, HUMANELY EUTHANIZE - in LEU of Being INHUMANLY SLAUGHTERED.
