SAVE OUR STANDARDBREDS FROM SLAUGHTER

Can’t believe they got rid of these- there is no good argument to support doing this. Bring them back! That’s how we know they are STBs!!!!!

USTA has the responsibility to do the right thing and keep freeze branding, particularly since they are unwilling to help in ANY way to keep retirees out of the kill pens. This could be avoided at little cost if the USTA did the right thing.

I don’t understand why we have to kill these horses. Why can’t they retire like humans, or are we going to slaughter humans too!

There are obvious and justifiable reasons to retain the freeze brand on the Standardbred racehorse. For reasons that you may or may not agree with, there are MANY people who use that brand for identification purposes. In order to work for or at the USTA you should be required to care about the horse and it's aftercare.

Save these poor innocent creatures from the awful humans that are destroying them for no good reason. Unbeleavable that a human can be so cruel.

Please stop the slaughter of these beautiful horses

Keep the Freeze Brand

I vehemently oppose doing away with freezebrands.please don't do this.

Branding has ALWAYS been a deterrent to THEFT. This ability to ID horses has saved thousands! Freeze brands needs to stay USTA!

After a life of servitude we can and are responsible for doing much better by these horses

Please leave a VISUAL Freezebrand, so STB folks can save them when they are in big pens in ' kill pens.' They deserve so much more after racing, then pulling buggies. They deserve LOVE , LIFE AND RETIREMENT..

I have rescued and rehabilitated many horses who should never have been on their way to slaughter. It is inhumane and there needs to be some accountability. If a horse can be identified through freeze branding and tattoos it makes it more difficult for their owners to mistreat, abuse, and unnecessarily dispose of them. Thank you.

Critical to the ongoing care of these horses is easy identification when they arrive at auction. That owners are embarrassed by the lack of investment in their charges’ future after these horses have given their lives to entertainment and profit should not be a deciding factor in this issue.

They have enough going against them. Don't take away the smallest chance they can be saved. They do not deserve this.
