I am signing this petition because I agree that the Standardbred horses should continue to be required to be permanently freeze branded. They deserve to have a chance at for a retirement home.

We NEED the freeze brands to more easily identify the Standardbreds we are trying to save from the disgusting slaughter practices. Shame on the people trying to abolish freeze brands!

The Standardbred Industry is increasingly callous and completely disregarding the welfare of these horses that race their hearts out for their trainers and owners. The Standardbred industry is as well loosing handle at the tracks due to their cavalier treatment, attitude and reputation for the animals they are exploiting.

This is absolutely a disgust 2 a lot of human beings out there how dare they and how can they do this they have absolutely no conscience of any sort they don't know what love is clearly they don't deserve to have an animal absolutely not this has to come to an end this this has to stop why should these horses go to slaughter because of some a****** no this is intolerable so so sad it's so hard to see

Agree, need visual freeze brand so any person can identify as STB. Access to scanners are limited, cost money, public excluded from killpens, so identification solely dependent on lot staffing/good will, ( more work for them.). Puts additional barriers to safely tehoming. Lost or stolen horses will suffer. Keep freeze brand! Protects horse, connections, potential buyers/rescues.
