Honestly disgraceful by the council.
I thought there was a national campaign to support grass roots in all sports and not to mention to uphold the legacy & spirt of the London 2012 Olympics. How is this outrageous decision supposed to support that.

HP15 - very local, don't know what this Parish Council is playing at - the pavilion (the clue is in the name) was built for the community, is run by the community and is well used by the community

Can assure you Max, that both the Bowls Club and the Croquet club are active members of HSA, you need to visit the rec other than at week-ends when there's a lot more going on than football!

Thought Government wanted to encourage more exercise? Local Government should be helping here to keep the facilities our children are using! You are here to serve your local community; not wreck it.

HP10 What a great way to hinder access to sport! It's time the Parish Council woke up and appreciated the fantastic work the HSA do for the community. After the Olympics I thought sport was to be promoted not priced out of the market!

Really don’t know what the parish council are playing at here. The pavilion has been functioning brilliantly under the HSA now for years and enjoyed by a large number of the community.

this will be a loss to the community and I am astounded that the council are taking this action - this will cause me to change my vote on the next council elections

Am I right in thinking that the Parish council want to pay the VAT that will have to be paid and then find someone to pay £40,000 p.a. rent. What are they? Stupid? Rhetorical question really!
HPC appear to be playing hardball
