This is a fantastic community facility built by and run by community volunteers. It would be good for the council to give something rather than take it away as usual.

The members of Hazlemers Sports Club built the pavilion without cost to the Parish Council. If the Parish Council want a rent of £40500, the Sports Association should now demand about £50000 for repayment of their labour

I believe that the Parish council are putting their own personal business concerns before the good of quality community projects that encourage children to be active and development excellent social skills!

I agree with Mrs Roberts as to the extent to which bowls/croquet greens are used. I am sure that when I was in my more active younger days playing highly competitive racquet sports I would have misguidedly dismissed bowls and croquet as a waste of space but now I am older and unable to play racquet sports I am glad to have found croquet; also highly competitive and requiring great skills at the highest level. With the slow demise and ultimate death of croquet at Bassetsbury Manor I and other HWCC members have had to travel into London to get a game of croquet. Please don't begrudge us some space to enjoy our sport in our advancing years; nor make the mistake of thinking that bowls and croquet are just for the old. Great Britain is one of the four top croquet-playing nations and is currently battling it out with the other three (New Zealand, Australia and the United States) in New Zealand for the prestigious McRobertson Shield currently held by Great Britain (you can google it for more information).

The HSA is not a business and only survives through the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers. Some realism is needed here please.

Save this pavillion that is run by generous volunteers and an hugely important part of the community. Show the Parish council that it's not just about profit, there are more important thing in life than making money!

Can't believe that the council think that could and should pay a commerical rent on a building paid for by the taxpayers being used by various voluntary sporting organisations.

I support the HSA and the pavilion is for the local people not to raise income for Parish Council.
