If you do intend going to a HPC meeting please be aware that all pavilion business is discussed in closed session at council meetings. Not much reported in the minutes either! Why the need for such determined secrecy one wonders?

This is a valued community resource, which will be destroyed by the Parish Council's demands. I attend a weekly French club here. As a wheelchair bound user, the services provided at the Pavilion are available to all. A lift is unavailable in other locations. This lift makes the Pavilion an even better community asset given the ageing population. (46, with MS)

I have attended several not for profit functions at th Sports Pavilion and have seen what an asset it is for the Hazlemere community. This is not a commercial venture it's a facility for the people of Hazlemere to run together and enjoy as a community. I think it's a disgrace that the Parish Council want to charge such a high annual rent. They should be supporting the volunteers who help to make Hazlemere a great place to live.

In which case, Mr Howard, why doesn't the council that you seem to represent, sit down with HSA and negotiate a fair rent, instead of wasting tax payers money on using lawyers to be so heavy handed?

As a surveyor, and having worked with local authorities this is not an unusual occurance, they like local commercial lanlords are just plain greedy, they do not give a darn about local groups, best way to best them is raise a noise, get publicity , they hate that

Who could know so much about both the sports association and the council and speak with such authority? Truly a very privileged position. But he does appear to be outnumbered 364:1!

There is no intention to run the Pavilion as a commercial asset by the council. All the money taken goes into HSA Ltd bank account !

The sports facilities are subsidised by the council over £40,000 per year and will continue to be. The only money making scheme is HSA/HSA Ltd ! They were supposed to set up as a charity not a private ltd company competing with the local pubs unfairly who have to pay rent !
