The only sport HPC seem interested in is skateboarding. If these spoilsport Councillors really think a skate-park in Hazlemere is essential then let it be located in their own backyard not on Hazlemere Recreation Ground.

All this nonsense from The Truth leads me to believe that it is only HSA that would be charged a high rent, any other Management Team with staff costs will run at a terrific loss without volunteers. How would that not lead to a huge increase in hiring costs? Furthermore, what an insult to imply that all current users are not members of our community.

One wonders how much Hazlemere parish Council are now racking up in legal bills having placed the matter of the pavilion into the hands of their lawyers. That will have to be covered by the Council tax charge on us local residents. Now they won't even speak in council on the subject saying it is sub judice. That was a decision taken by Chairman Mapletoft, though his statement has not yet been published! It is understood that the council are not unanimous on this matter!

The pavilion should remain. Doesn't the govt. want us all doing sport ? The council are being very petty in this matter. The rent suggested is ridiculous for a sports venu, its a pavilion not a shop or similarly commercial enterprise. Exasperated doesn't go near it !!!!

There should be a public enquiry to investigate the close link between the Parish Council and HRA (2009). My guess (judged by the response to this e-petition) is that HRA only represents a very small minority of Hazlemere’s residents. HRA is clearly influencing important Parish Council decisions. I suspect (HRA can correct me if I am wrong) that several members of HRA live in the Rose Avenue area of Hazlemere which is one of the two suggested sites for HRA/HPC’s pet skate park project. Mr Tony Howard (alias “The Truth”?) whose two daughters are now Parish Councillors and Councillor Mapletoft have been the authors of several blogs on HRA’s website including blogs suggesting that either the bowls club or the croquet club should make way for a skate park. The Croquet Club was compelled to terminate negotiations with HPC for site agreed on Hazlemere’s Recreation Ground because HPC was insisting on a rent three times the rent which the Croquet Club subsequently agreed with Wycombe District Council (WDC) for similar-sized site on WDC’s side. In the event the Croquet Club lost thousands of pounds through lost funding and its relocation was delayed by a whole year resulting in no lawns of its own for members to play on last summer season. As regards HPC’s and HRA’s skate park project It seems that more recently HPC commissioned Mr Howard to carry out a consultation process to enable it to decide between the Rose Avenue site and site on Hazlemere Recreation Ground (the HRG). I understand that as a result of this so-called consultation process (surprise surprise!) the HRG site is now the preferred option. But were the people most affected consulted, namely HSA and its member sports clubs and people living close to HRG? The Parish Council should never have commissioned Mr Howard to carry out the consultation. Pressure should be brought on the Parish Council to ignore the results of Mr Howard’s consultation and commission a consultation which is truly independent. An e-petitio
