HP157QA - i am a member of HTFC Gunners junior football based on the rec and live around the corner. i want to continue through the HSA because it encouraged me to participate in local sports and made up of volunteers. The parish council are being unfair and we don't know what will happen if they lose the building to another organisation - how are the members of HSA going to pay the £40,000 between us??!

HP108BD - The Ken Williams Memorial Hall is a valuable asset to the local community for many a various reasons. Sporting activities should be encouraged for both children and adults and to loose these facilities would be to the detriment of the community. A local sports a social club should be affordable to all. I urge the Hazlemere Parish Council to reconsider their decision.

Councils are expected to support sport at an affordable rent. If the rent becomes unaffordable then there will be a lack of sporting activity. This is surely false economy.

Holy Trinity Juniors FC, a member of Hazlemere Sports Association, run the hugely successful Hazlemere Sixes, a six-a-side football competition at the end of each May. We attract 70 teams from across the south east, including Swindon Town FC, Wycombe Wanderers, Watford FC, Milton Keynes and Tottenham Hotspur (yes THE Tottenham Hotspur) as well as all the local kids sides that play regularly in and around Hazlemere. The tournament has been one of the most successful summer competitions for more than 10 years but will it be able to continue without the Pavilion, or with vastly increased charges to use the facilities? Will there be the volunteers to enable it to run? Please help us to persuade the Council to rethink their position. Sports Pavilions for Sports people!

The Council should be utterly ashamed of itself for proposing what is none other than opportunistic profiteering from many years of hard unpaid effort by volunteers in the community to provide this excellent facility for the very people that keep those very same council members in their positions - disgraceful, they should resign en mass.
