"Transfer trauma" and its predictable negative effects on frail elders with multiple, complex disabling conditions is a reality that Pacifica cannot ignore--especially in the face of a global pandemic and absent an equivalent local facility. Destruction of this unique community health resource in pursuit of market-rate real estate development is a morally bankrupt choice.
