Please consider extending culturally sensitive care for our Japanese American senior citizens. After enduring injustices during their youth or young adulthood, securing these measures of comfort seem like a small act of kindness for these American seniors.

Please honor the culture of the few surviving Japanese and Japanese-Americans who lived through the horror of WW2 and the unjust internment. All people deserve humane care as they age, and that means sensitivity to their language and culture. It is EXTREMELY difficult to find culturally sensitive care for Japanese Americans and my mother did not before her death. Please extend the protection for these elderly individuals.

Dear Pacifica,
Please consider the pandemic and its repercussions. I lived in Tokyo for 12 years and became bi-cultural and fairly fluent in Japanese. After working with many elderly women in the Denver area who were on fixed incomes, I understand the urgent need that those who are living in these facilities are facing. Please be compassionate and find a way to meet your financial needs and at the same time meet the needs of these vulnerable aging people. Please. Thank you for being "human" and I know you are super smart so there must be a way to make a win-win situation. If we all live a bit more simply, I am sure it can be done, right? Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
