The A49 is a main trunk road that is always busy.

Yet again another decision made where council fat cats sit in their jags while they fail in their duty of care to the pupils if weaverham high. I suggest everyone keep their children off school and force the council to take action.

This is not a safe route for children with cars, trucks and lorries rushing down this major trunk road literally a few feet from the children walking. The bus must be reinstated.

The route to Weaverham school from cuddingtion is not suitable for young children. it is a very dangerous road in my opinion, high speed vehicles and narrow paths. The distance 4 to 5 miles return is not acceptable as a child will be spending over 12% of their waking hours per day walking to and from school.

How do you think the A49 is safe on dark mornings and evenings for 100+ children to walk over an hour each way to school, adding onto their day ?????

It is nowhere near safe enough for the kids to walk to school plus they will have to walk 2.8 miles and it will take 59 minutes to get there. So before they have even got to school they will be tired and will not be prepared for learning

I can't believe that they are even considering this as an option for children to get to school. From someone who lives on Eden Grange and walks their dog daily along the A49, this is such a dangerous road to walk along. The cars and lorries travel faster than 60mph, the lights are ignored and there have been quite a few nasty accidents there (someone drove through red coming down the hill when I was coming out on green the other day), meaning that the crossing is unsafe. Also if there is any kind of accident on the M6 or M56 then the A49 coming from Warrington is completely gridlocked.

This is not a safe route to either walk or cycle for a small number of adults let alone 90-150 school age children. This is purely a money saving excercise by the council that is effectively putting a price on our children's lives.

My daughters both got the bus while at Weaverham High School. I would not let them walk to or from Weaverham from Sandiway as I considered it unsafe due to the speed of traffic on the A49 which has a speed limit of 60 mph and is a major trunk road. There is no other safe route for them to walk or cycle due to the narrow roads and no footpaths.

I think it's unfair to expect students to walk for an hour to and from school in all weathers, and it's irresponsible to suggest it using such a dangerous route.

my daughter daughter wants to go to weaverham high but due to her bone problems she Will Not Be Able to walk that route. hence nor Hartford either :(

I fully support the action to reinstate the council run buses to weaverham high school. Disagree with the safety judgement on the pathway next to the a49, on which out children are expected to walk as vehicles fly by at 60mph and higher!!
