This should at least be open for discussion with the parents and the safety of the children should be paramount.

I drive up and down the a49 all the time. It is not safe for school children to do so. More cuts! If parents are paying fines in the cwac for holidays taken then it should go bk into the school system. I know it doesnt as i went to court and asked them!!

There is no where safe on the A49 for children to walk to school, and as an extra worry the lights at Eden Grange only stop one half of the traffic at a time. And given the amount of accidents at those lights in the last year alone it is obviously not safe for the children.

Bring back the bus! Surely our high school children can't be expected to walk all that way in all weather's. It's just wrong, and worrying.

This is a seriously flawed decision. The shortest way from Sandiway to Wraverham is along an unlit single-carriageway country road (Weaverham Rd). . People do not walk half a mile to use a footpath, they use the shortest route.

There is no way that that route along the A49 is safe. There are no proper crossings and the traffic heavy and dangerous. I emplore the council to rethink their decision before there is a serious accident.

Sorry but this mad to think it's safe to walk to school any thing could happen to any of them I would not let my children walk to school in the rain snow & ICE I THINK YOU BETTER THING OF SOMETHING ELSE what would happen if some one got hurt or taken cos it can happen in this world who would take the blame for it I would but all down to you lot who trying to stop the buses

How can it be safe for children to walk along that road? I wouldn't like to walk along that road with cars speeding past, so I wouldn't expect my children or anybody else's to walk it. Keep the school bus and keep the children safe.

It would be such a shame to lose our bus. The so called 'safe' walking route is anything but which means traffic to school will increase as concerned parents take their children to school & our children will lose independence of travelling to and from school with their friends.

Children must have a safe route to school the withdrawal of the Weaverham bus is negligent given the road conditions school children are expected to negotiate during their 2 mile walk.

Absolutely no thought whatsoever about the practicalities of this. I like to see those who made this decision do this walk every day no matter what the weather is!
