I live on this road and there are only pavements on one side of the road and these are very narrow. HGVs and cars travel very fast and there are no crossings on all but one of the junctions.

no way

This is clearly not a safe route. It is too far to walk, especially in bad weather. The increase in traffic around the High School would be incredible.

Just unbelievable to expect pupils to walk the A49 back & to school. Are they going to change the speed limit on the A49 to 30mph?? You wouldn't let your kids walk home on the M6 or M56. Totally support your petition. And are we ready for another 150 cars on the our local roads - pollution more traffic more accidents .

I drive this road and it is a busy fast road, the paths are not suitable for children to walk along. Is money more important that children's lives

What will happen if a child is kept back in school? Do you expect them to walk home alone. This is idiotic.

I would be interested to know if anyone who has made this decision has walked this route at 8 am on a weekday morning. It is not safe for children and adults alike.

It is ludicrous and UNSAFE for children from the age of 11 to walk along a major trunk road to and from school every day which takes at least 45 minutes and in all weathers.

Feel very strongly that this school bus should continue to run

SAVE THE BUS!!! I got this bus for the 5 years that I was in high school (3 years ago now) and I could never have imagined having to walk to school everyday along the A49. How that road has been classed as 'safe' is outrageous!

This is a dangerous route to have to walk due to the traffic speed, volume of traffic, a narrow and mossy footpath, inadequate 'safe' crossings places plus the toxic fumes.

It's appalling to think that children aged from 11 are expected to walk this very dangerous route twice daily during peak travel times, and often through hazardous weather conditions. After completing the walk myself I want to know what will it take to make CWAC council revisit this ridiculous decision.

No child should be expected to walk beside an extremely busy A49! No protection from crash barriers. A truck/Larry or car could wipe out a hell of a lot of kids just simply trying to get to school.

Without the bus parents will drive their children to school adding to already heavy traffic and causing parking problems

It is a ridiculous proposal that children as young as 11 can walk this route.

It is terrible to think that children will have to walk down a main road and across a roundabout in all weather's, carrying heavy school bags to save money. It is a dangerous route for a child pedestrian to walk from Cuddington to Weaverham.
