This is a callous and irresponsible decision which has not been considered thoroughly. Children, some only 11 years of age, should not be expected to walk the extremely dangerous A49 trunk road, with its high volumes of traffic, including many HGV's, travelling at 60mph within inches of their bodies. I am shocked and horrified that CWAC considers this to be a safe route for young schoolchildren, or anyone for that matter, to walk. Just because there is now a pedestrian crossing at Eden Grange, how does that make walking 2.6 miles next to speeding traffic any safer, and how does it have any bearing on crossing the roads at the White Barn, Millington Lane or the horrendous West Rd/ Forest St/Gorstage Lane junction in Weaverham? Come on CWAC, we all know this is just about saving money. Admit you've made a mistake here and find your savings somewhere else; putting our childrens' lives at risk on dangerous roads is not the way to solve your financial problems.

It's called cut back, but it is butting children & adults in danger.

This is too far for children to walk and a rediculous things for working parents who are unable to take and pick their children up everyday. As a former resident and pupil I think this is extremely dangerous

My children benefitted from a free bus whilst they were at Weaverham, I would not want them walking down the A49 as the walkway is not big enough to accommodate a mass of children walking. This decision will endanger lives.

This is put of order. I thought we were to protect children and get them to and from school safely? This is disgusting and unfair.

The A49 is such a dangerous road. I can't believe the council are proposing it is a safe route for children to walk to school.

I don't think it is safe for children to walk on busy roads. Not all parents can accompany their children due to work commitments.

You cannot expect children to walk to school on this very busy road just to save money. It is a dangerous route, an accident waiting to happen. I urge you to reconsider.

You can't put a price or cost saving on children's safety.
