My husband has used this facility since we came to live in Dronfield over 40 years ago.It is somewhat of a local institution and a boon to the area. It will be a sad day if it goes as it is used by non local people which has to be good for Dronfield. Where is the nearest alternative?

Once again the powers that be, see fit to exclude the very people they claim to represent, those who use the Dronfield Sports Centre on a regular basis. The leader, self styled Fuhrer Councillor Graham Baxter without consultation with users has stabbed the people of Dronfield in the back. Shame on you.

As it looks likely the sauna facility at Dronfield will be replaced by a Fitness studio, why not join Killamarsh sports Centre, we have a fantastic sauna facilities, aswell as a new gym, football pitches, sports hall & lots of fitness classes.

Where I previously lived we lost the sauna and steam room and lots of people stopped using the pool. This would be a bad decision to close this facility. Please reconsider.

This would be a great loss to the facilities at the centre, one of the main reasons for joining as a member was the fact that seperate days sauna facilities were available. If
this facility was to go could I expect a reduction in my monthly subscription? What would the Sauna area be used for if this facility was to be lost?

Ridiculous
pandering to alleged keep fit addicts
Abbeydale done same thing invested a lot of money into an addition facility that to be honest is barely used
It will be a white elephant

A thorough consultation process should take place before these proposals are implemented because so far this has not happened and far more members are affected than the centre maintain.

First the sauna, then what? in the attempt to cut costs. Lots of people can't afford private gyms with these facilities.

I'm a great fan of this facility and after a stressful day at work it really helps settle me down. I would be very sorry to see this sauna close down, it is also a great meeting point for all ages to have a catch up.One of the main reasons I joined this gym was they had a steam room and sauna facility and if this closes down so should everyone's monthly subscription.

This sauna is a rare and valuable resource which must be preserved. There are many sports centres, but they do not offer this facility. That is why I travel many miles to use it. Usage is higher than stated and would be more if it were properly marketed.

Why take away something that people will travel 30 miles to use. Something like this ought to be promoted as a unique selling point and has the potential to make extra funds for the centre

I use the sauna regularly, it has vastly improved my wellbeing and I am surprised, upset and annoyed that the facility is to be removed.

As I am a member of dronfield sports centre for the past 6 years I have just found out that the mangament have decided to close the sauna and steam room down to say I am disappointed is an under statement. I always thought the gym was a health an fittness centre but by closing the sauna you are taking the health bit out of it.
