I will not vote to widen any of the streets of Windermere and will fight the Town should the town attempt to take additional right-of-way by eminent domain.

For those of us who have been long-term residents and will continue to be you need to keep the roads as they are. Changing them in the manner which you are proposing changes completely the town and will invite more congestion down our roads

We love the protection the dirt roads afford our lakes and the quaintness of Windermere. We are against the paving of the roads.

Windermere is loved by residents because of it’s quaint small town feel and stately oaks. Expanding the roads, which will encroach into our yards, cut down trees, and only entice people to drive faster, is a step in the opposite direction.

Growing up in the town of Windermere was an amazing experience. The towns charm comes from the small-town feel and dirt roads lined with mature oak trees. Keeping the small roads and trees is essential to keeping the Windermere that so many desire and love.

This town means so much to me and the dirt roads and oak trees that hang over keep me inspired. Not many places still have this characteristic of pure nature and that’s so special. Walking on dirt barefoot is grounding for the soul and has researched benefits! You can’t get that in other towns! Our Windermere dirt roads bring out the child in us.

I think this petition is a good way to let the council know how you feel. A petition to amend the charter to protect our dirt roads so our town always will maintain its charm is a permanent solution.

We are in favor of working with the Town Council to find solutions to our town’s traffic and drainage issues that won’t impact or sacrifice the essence of Windermere - primary features being our gorgeous, mature trees, our charming sand roads and our pristine Butler Chain of Lakes.

Please consider a different method for solving the water drainage. I’m so concerned with the width of the roads and loss of trees but mostly just loss of property. For many of us that live in these unique properties in town that is most of our front yards, if not all. The sand streets and one-way roads in some parts is what makes our town so quaint and unique. We do not want it to be a two-way road. If we did we would definitely live somewhere else. But we choose to live on sand streets in very expensive homes that lack many other luxuries that we could find elsewhere for less. Thank you for your leadership and consideration.
