I feel that it's ok to subdivide but agree that they should be min 650sq blocks I've seen first hand in mackay northern beaches what small lots offer and it does not look appealing for any estate or community also long term in a downturn it drives houses prices down due to over supply in one area Council allow it to happen as they generate more income due to more rates pain etc

Please stop this development. This is detrimental to the appeal of our natural environment. The development will severely strain our school systems and local infrastructure and would transform the population dynamics with higher density housing bringing increased crime. Redlynch cannot support a population increase of this magnitude.

I am completely against this development . I find the area crowded as it is, and particularly at RSC where my 2 children attend . Our lovely scenery is being destroyed and I fully support my fellow residents in this petition .

300-500m2 lot sizes are a joke! Council should never allow such sizes!!

My concerns are: flooding, increased pressure on Freshwater creek and its eco system from storm water drainage; the small block size making for a large population in a small area thus putting strain on infrastructure and amenities and the negative social behaviours, and lastly the lost of integrity of the Redlynch area due to the above concerns

Does not at all fit in with surrounding development within the valley, and puts a hole in the aesthetic nature strip that runs from deep in the Valley to the beaches.

Please listen to the residents.

A large residential estate backing onto Freshwater Creek will have a huge impact on the Creek IMO....A pristeen area recently replanted ( why did they bother) will be heavily impacted.

The valuable land there should be used for community facilities like a swimming pool for the heat of summer, gym facilities and a cafe precinct - not another bunch of high density housing without the roads to support it. Redlynch needs more for the people that are here, not more people...

Keep Redlynch pure. This will ruin what we have.

Please don't turn Redlynch into a ghetto

To whom it may concern, I am a Redlynch resident and I am hoping I can make my voice heard. Over time I have seen more and more development take place on precious green land. While I respect growth and development needs to take place for continued growth of the town, what is concerning is the latest application extending on previously approved stages. There are several issues: Flood zone - the plans are for building on areas that have been left undeveloped for the specific reason that they regularly flood. Realistically how sensible is it to house people in areas that will knowingly have the same recurring issues every single year. This is opening the door for homes to get damaged by regular flooding that could be avoided which will in turn lead to a greater volume of insurance claims and driving policies up. Quality of life- the existing residents of Redlynch choose to live in this suburb for the fact it is a rural area. Redlynch has a point of difference in that it is reasonably untouched. It has a fantastic community spirit, a small town feel and low crime rates. It is presently a great place to live and bring up kids. Size of blocks- one of the things that Australia in general is renowned for across the world is space! The size of blocks will not encourage quality living, it could lend itself to possible public housing and a likelihood of increased crimes rates. It goes against everything we say is great about Redlynch and Cairns as a whole. Traffic congestion - peak times for the intake road is bad enough already having 2 schools opposite each other. How is this even a consideration when the increased traffic congestion in this small area will be pushed to its limits. Emergency vehicle access - the roads in these closely built developments already have known issues for emergency access and manoeuvrability. Rediculous development sure to destroy one of Cairns last gems

I fully agree with this petition. We understand development of the site is inevitable but this proposal is obscene and not in the best interests of existing ratepayers.

The blocks should be a large size to suit the area of beautiful homes. Don't turn this area in to Smithfield "lego land" cheap and nasty houses.

How did this pass council If this is below the q100??
