The administration just confirmed they are dropping the plans to outsource our recreation center. My hands are shaking as I type this because I honestly did not think we would pull it off. Thank you for sticking with me through the long months of uncertainty while we fought for our …
Reaching this point has been an exhausting uphill climb but seeing the momentum grow gives me a reason to keep pushing. It feels like the administration is finally starting to feel the weight of our collective concern.

Part of our tuition covers that facility. That is the only place for the face team practice and if you outsource it we will have no where. We also do ALL of our own fundraising and that money should not have to go towards paying for a new practice spot.

Literally the worst parts of NKU; Chartwells, parking, and book prices are all outsourced. Why on earth would anyone want an outside company to control the rec center.

What does this mean for NKU sport clubs? If rec is outsourced, does this mean that the sport club program (including funding) could be drastically changed or altered?

my son has worked at the Rec almost his whole time at NKU. it has been a great experience for him. the school should look toward employing students in exercise science majors ( or similar) as co-ops instead of bringing in outsiders

I cannot pay for a gym membership. This is included in my tuition, I would like it to stay that way. A huge number of students will lose their college jobs because of this. Most of these workers are my dear friends who need these jobs to pay for school.

I was part of the original SGA Senate that voted to implement the Rec Fee in order to pay for the new Rec Center. It dissapoints me to hear that the administration would even think to outsource the campus recreation center after students have already been paying for the new Rec Center for years.
