Final supporters
Whilst we are not trying to recreate the Twyford as it was, we are keen to prevent this old pub being turned into flats or being left to fall down. Once an area becomes residential, we have zero chance of getting the change of use back to a commercial business. With the development of the old hospital and bingo hall into residential, the Newport Street area of the town centre is dying and existing businesses are struggling to draw footfall.
Add your voice to encourage the owners to keep this plot as a pub or similar business to benefit the community instead of just benefitting developers.

We cannot continue to lose the social centre of the town. We have already lost the Blucher, & the Hare & Hounds to the greed of the management companies who then sell the wasted corpse of the pub on with no regard to the bigger picture.
The Twyford is iconic and an intrinsic part of our town's rich history. This council keeps allowing for more and more houses with less and less facilities. You are effectively allowing a deliberate act of arson to force this through. It's an utter disgrace!
Enterprise Inns in "pub for sale with development potential" shock. Stop Enterprise Inns doing this. Register the Twyford Inn as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011. Apply to Devon County Council.
The Twyford is a piece of Tiverton history and we need it to stay part of Tiverton's community. We would like to see it run like Karen & Phil used to...a warm family pub, with band nights and family pub food! We have enough housing around the town centre already!!
this pub and the people in it saved me. i met my hubby there, our first kiss was there, i am the bride in the pictures, i found myself, wonderful friends and my husband there, not just a pub. a way of life, a safe haven. save our pub. PLEASE.
