Lavender Hill police station has been in place for decades. It serves as a physical tangible deterrent. Helps deter criminals. Less crime in local area.

I have joined my voice for one reason only: if at any given time, in the evenings, 5 policeman/policewoman are on duty in Islington - for the whole borough - then imagine what we as Wandsworth residents will be dealing with. Without Clapham Junction's Police Station and Balham Police Station their will be no police teams within a 5-10 minutes ride anywhere anymore.

Why they need to close it?

We have already lost one police station (Battersea, now converted into apartments!), why do those in power wish to close another? This is inner London and we need our police staions, or has the night that Clapham Junction got trashed in the riots and the broad daylight shooting in Lavender Hill amongst other things been forgotten!

Wandsworth Council is working consistently to create anexcellent borough for everyone to live in but this requires on going police surveillance and awareness of gand warfare and knives even acid attacks.

We need our police stations in order to feel as safe as possible. Surely the powers that be can see what a false economy it is to close down police stations, especially now we live in a violent &aggressive world.

Closing local police stations when crime is on the increase is irresponsible and shows a complete lack of concern for public safety.

Since the number of police and patrolling have been reduced, there has been increasing antisocial behaviour and drug taking in the area with some residents now afraid to go out while gangs of youths roam the streets.

Its terrible in this perilous age not to have the reassuring hand of the Police closely availble. We need our Police more than ever now as has been proved in recent horrendous attacks, both preventing crime and being super quickand effective when threatened.

The closure of Fulham police station has led - not surprisingly- to a crime wave. We need local police stations to stay open to deter criminals and protect citizens. Don’t let it happen to Wandsworth too.

Only a fool cuts the Thin Blue Line at a heightened time of criminality Sadig You ask people to trust you. Show honest citizens and the police that they can, because right now you are making it very difficult to believe anything you say on the subject. Who precisely benefits from closing police stations and cutting police numbers, apart from the criminals? I'm sure they are big fans of such an inane rational. Remember, who you call when the chips are down matey. Boost police morale and public belief. Give us all genuine reasons to believe, not political platitudes dressed up as concern for society's well being.

We need more police on our streets not fewer to keep us all safe

This is madness. At a time when crime in the borough is increasing it is bad enough having less Police Officers but closing even more Police stations is reneging on yet another promise. Stop making promises Sadiq that you do not intend to keep.

Reversing the policy is a foolish & shortsighted policy, as is closing police stations. To do so would invite more crime, & put police & public at more risk.
