The Paterson ASCS PTO is being dismantled by school administration without cause. We must work together as parents to save our voice. The PTO has worked diligently to raise funds for our students and school activities.

The Paterson ASCS PTO has planned several events to help make our school family stronger. We are strong believers that Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) which is why a majority of the PTO events promotes families coming together.

According to a study by the National Education Association, when a parent is part of the child’s education it can greatly benefit that student. When your child see’s your interest in what he/ she is doing at school it increases their chance of success. Seeing how much you are involved in their school activities teaches them the importance of learning. According to PTO today your child is more likely to make better grades, higher test scores, have good attendance, show proper behavior and exhibit better social skills when you are involved.

The Paterson ASCS PTO are in need of your support for the following:

· The current board would like to continue serving the parent/student body until the end of the term May 31, 2015.

· In interim we are requesting the school appoint a representative from the school to serve as the treasurer.

· In addition we are looking for our school officials to allow us to become a 501(c) 3 organization, this will allow the PTO to apply for grants, receive tax-deductible donations, gives the PTO the authority to make tax-exempt purchases and grow as an organization.
