We have lived in this area for 40 years and really appreciated the different shops in Ham Shop Parade. But now the parade is suffering badly. We use to have three banks now we have no bank and the closed Barclays Bank is going to become a Sainsbury next Feb. The butcher next door sold for fear of losing custom re competing with Sainsbury - the owner of the butcher actually died of a hear attack earlier this year. His son finally put the butchers up for sale and an estate agent has now applied to buy it - this will be the 4th estate agent in Ham Shop Parade. The Chinese sold and it's now a fish and chip shop with bright turquoise outside! We also now have to enormous betting 'shops' Zac Goldsmith did his best to save the bank with a lot of local support - didn't work. By the way we also use to have a post office but that disappeared too. Ham has a good mixture of local people. Parkleys has quite a few elderly who relied on the bank to get their pensions and also have a chat with the ladies serving them. Ham was then a lovely community (important in this day and age). The good shops that are left are very worried - scared it will be their turn next. Janet Bernard

We don't need another estate agents. There are too many already. Some diversity would be more useful.

This is not a shopping parade any longer, unless you are buying a house, and how often do you do that???!!! There is not local feel to it any more. Save the Ham Parade to be a shopping destination!!!!

The shopping parade is too small for yet another Estate Agent, we need shops for people to shop in!

We need the balance back in Ham Parade so another butcher, bank or Post Office would be ideal. Please not another estate agents or bookmakers

I agree with many of the comments here - another butcher or bank would be more useful. Thanks!

A 4th Estate Agent will not benefit the local community. Estate Agents, Hairdressers and Charity Shops are already over represented in Ham Parade.

Please refuse any applications by hairdressers, estate agents (including Gibson Lane's current application), or bookmakers for retail units on Ham Parade. We have more of these businesses than necessary on our parade already. Thank you.

We do not require more estate agents, we have three already, neither do we need another charity shop, we have two of those, nor do we need a Sainsburys Local, there is a large Sainsburys about a mile down the road towards Kingston. We do need a replacement butchers, or ideally a small bank. Mrs Wendy Knight.

We do not need another Estate Agent. It will add nothing to the life of the Parade

It is a truth universally acknowledged that too many local estate agents depress property values

We do not need another Estate Agent. This Parade is invaluable to residents in Ham and Petersham who are reliant on their local shops selling consumer products.. Manowners of the individual shops also play an important role in our community

I believe we can do without another Estate Agent in the Ham Parade. What we do require is a small bank so that the local retailers are able to place their daily takings in a reliable and safe place over night as well as being extremely handy for local shoppers. I'm sure that if such a scheme were proposed or made known locally, the response would be favourable and attract more business. (Not Estate Agents!)
