Over development in a small area will just be a huge burden on the already overstretched infrastructure. So wrong in so many ways!

Thirty stories? I am not against development at all, but this is greedy over development. The increase in the population of our neighbourhood, additional vehicles, traffic congestion....thirty stories for this development....just not sustainable.Moonee Ponds...unliveable

I am a Councillor of the City of Moonee Valley and am really flabbergasted by the decision in relation to Stage 2 of the Moonee Ponds. Market site. A doubling of the local population over the next two years (MV racecourse included) is an over calculation of the capacity for this community to manage such change and for all our public infrastructure to hold up and meet demands whether this is transport, health, recreation or social. The government must now sit down in meaningful discussions with Council to plan and fund these local issues properly.

I grew up in this neighbourhood and it is so sad to see all the beautiful old homes demolished for these highrise buildings. Its loosing all its character.

I am totally against the scale of this inappropriate development in the heart of the moonee ponds commercial district, the surrounding streets are narrow and in no way capable of handling the increased traffic flows resulting from this and other approved high rise apartments already under construction.

This development as it currently stands is inappropriate for the Moonee ponds area. It is not in keeping with the current landscape or character of our suburb. You must reconsider this monstrosity.

Totally inappropriate

Why are you overruling the wishes of the locals and council - who are clearly not anti-development - just anti inappropriate development. Instead you're turning this area into a dumping ground for oversized office tower-like apartment blocks with no design merit and little obvious social benefit to the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Overdevelopment at its best, please use your power to exercise common sense

This size and type of development is unacceptable for the Moonee Ponds area. It will destroy our community and we don't have the infrastructure to support this. We object to this decision and the Minister having no regard for what the community wants.

Disgusting that this would even be considered!

The tendency to disregard altogether the reasonable objections of citizens in the area is causing us to doubt the government's motives. Thirty stories cannot be absorbed by local infrastructure systems.

The community does not consent to this type of excessive inappropriate development. It needs to be scaled back to half that height.

What's the point in having local council representing local interests if some Victorian planning minister can overrule. What is the basis of that decision, whose best interest is that in?
