America doesn't need any more kids (or people) who are either uneducated or uninterested in science. As competitive in space grows, the basics of rocketry will become increasingly more important to future generations. This hobby will only whet that appetite and expand young people's minds. Banning it will only make them and others afraid of something completely harmless. This is a safe and educational activity (far more educational than most sports). Please reconsider.

Hey model rocketry in mechanical engineering landed me a conveyor design engineer job through a STEM competition SEDS. Any launch site you shut down hurts STEM.

The National Association of Rocketry has more than 60 years of proven safety guidelines, and CRASH clearly shows 30 years of commitment at Bear Creek Lake Park.
With the new space race, both young and old would like to enjoy this hobby and explore science and engineering as Musk, Branson, Bezos, and others make their way to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
Let CRASH stay!

It would be a shame to stifle an activity that fosters so many benefits for youth, families and wholesome organizations. Let us fly!

As a STEM educator and government employee, I can attest to the merits and safety of allowing model rockets to be launched in public venues such as parks ,as long as there is oversight from adults trained in launch safety , which your local C.R.A.S.H group is. STEM is our country's future. Public concerns can be addressed and still allow for these launches which as you likely know have insurance coverage under the National association of Rocketry.

Just let these kids be kids. Stop trying to control everything about our lives! The people that run these launches, know what they are doing!

Please let this group continue their good work. At a time when most young people are stuck inside, playing video games, or obsessively checking their phones and social media, these kids are getting the chance to go outside, learn, and do something they love.

I launched plenty or Estes rockets growing up and never had a fire. I don't understand why the screwed up Government we have has to kill or overlap every good hobby we have in America. Freedoms are slowly being eroded away with stupid laws.

I support the continued support of model rocketry. I started my interest in space systems with model rocketry and went on to work for NASA as a career. This is a very good use of this park and others.

I do not live in the Denver area so am not directly affected by this decision -- oh, wait, yes I am. I have spent the past 30 years working for the space program at Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center. I came to Florida, as opposed to other centers of space, including Colorado, because I grew up flying model rockets -- often in the ball fields of our local public schools. Noise and fire was NEVER an issue, and our activity only served to attract crowds who wanted to watch. If you want to ban model rocketry from your park, then I suggest as local officials you also ban those activities that are infinitely noisier, physically more dangerous to children and less helpful in terms of the nation's future in STEM professions. By those activities I mean soccer, football, baseball, track, tennis and even swimming -- all activities I'm sure your local parks support without question. Don't be shortsighted and ill-informed. Don't ban model rocketry from your park.

Don't cry 'fire' when there's never been a fire in this sport. Same goes for noise...Just another excuse. Quit trying to control the happiness of others. You kill this sport, you're taking away the joy of children and adults!
