as per this article:
https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/contact7/lakewood-rocketry-club-to-ground-all-future-flights-out-of-bear-creek-lake-park
"As the use has increased, the park has received multiple complaints each year about the rockets from other park users because of the noise and visual impacts and the effect they have on the enjoyment of the park by other park visitors."
Screaming kids have "noise and visual impacts" on park enjoyment. People playing sports of any kind, especially organized sports, have "noise and visual impacts" on park enjoyment for people who don't care about sports. Any motorized boating, manned or RC? That's noisy, continuously vs. the seconds of rocket motor thrusting.
"Lastly, the rockets poise a fire danger, and allowing that activity increases fire danger and creates too much risk for the park."
Gas or electric grilling only in that picnic shelter? Smoking (of anything) or vaping banned everywhere in the park and strictly enforced? They don't have announced Fire Marshal(?) bans on ANY outdoor flames during serious fire hazard days anyway?
let em fly!

As a model rocket enthusiast and as someone born and raised in Colorado myself, I am asking that these launches be allowed to continue. Many young people, myself included, have been inspired to pursue careers in science and engineering because of the thrill offered by model rocketry. To cease these events would not only be a detriment to the hobby, but a disservice to the youth of today who will be responsible for building our world tomorrow

Model rocketry is an outstanding STEM activity, safe as supported by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and National Association of Rocketry (NAR), and great family fun. Please consider continuing a good relationship with this club. - Mark B. Bundick, Past President, National Association of Rocketry

This is a fantastic family oriented and responsible group that needs to be supported. There should be a solution sought to address any concerns rather than a complete shut down of communication as this is valuable and unique endeavor worth saving.

The city allows non-educational activities with questionable safety records such as bike riding and fishing at the park. It seems rather an outrage that they won't allow a self insuring, educational activity with an excellent safety record to use public lands. Especially as the area has been used for this activity for decades without serious incident. I find the motives of the park officials curious to say the least.

You have nothing to fear from model rocket enthusiasts who fly using the safety code of the National Association of Rocketry. What is to be feared is denying this outlet for scientific excitement to future generations.

I have attended and participated in launches for the past year. Nearing retirement, I thought and it has been proven to be an excellent hobby to stay active. What I am so pleased to see at the launches are families participating in a technical hobby.

CRASH is the most welcoming, prepared and thorough group of rocket launchers I have ever encountered. I would NEVER have paid to enter Bear Creek state park if it wasn’t for CRASH and have lived in the area for 20years. Let this group keep doing what it does.

I grew up launching rockets and want to get my kids into it as well. Clubs like this are so helpful to getting kids and families into this hobby. Interest in something like this can often spark interest in other parts of science and engineering.

This program is a fantastic opportunity for hundreds of children to learn and be outdoors. They have met with you to discuss solutions, don’t be a dictator and refuse to cooperate.
