The Park will generate more ill will by terminating this permit than it will by renewing and continuing the partnership with the public. They should think about that and the price they will pay...

If they don't learn how to take on responsibility and risk together to advance their studies, how are they ever going to grow?

As a family, we build model rockets. This gives us a safe location to launch and a community that supports the kids. It would be a devastating loss.

I am a long time model rocketry participant. CRASH is a great group of volunteers who provide a safe and educational program. Please allow this 30 YEAR TROUBLE FREE use of the park to continue.

Arbitrary decision by the Parks Department not based on facts. Do some actual research and weigh the pro’s and con’s before making decisions like these. You’ll soon find out you’re on the wrong side of this.

I've taken my kids to CRASH launches for years. It's a great STEM learning experience.

Model rocketry played a huge role in my formative years that lead me into engineering. I share it with as many young people as I can to pass on my knowledge and encourage them to go into the field. I hope that they'll become the next generation of Neil Armstrongs or Sally Rides.
Save our Rockets!

Model rocketry is a safe and educational hobby that gets young people interested in science instead of video games. It should be encouraged. There's no reason to prohibit launches by a club with a 30 year history of safety.

The concerns are addressed. Don't take away good activities lest the youth opt for less wholesome activities instead. Perhaps the rockets will reduce graffiti?? Thank you!

Denying access to these motivated and well supervised young adults makes no sense. I urge the council to reconsider their decision.

I grew up building model rockets as one of my 4-H projects. I had the luck of living in the rural parts of Colorado where a place to launch my rockets was easy to find. In the Denver Metro are this is not the case. Taking away the opportunity would deny so many of our youth the opportunity to partake in an event that can teach kids so much about building things with their hands and the science behind what they are doing in a way books simply cannot.
Colorado has the second largest aerospace economy in the nation and a place like this allows our professionals the ability to mentor and foster a love of science in the next generation who will take us to who knows where. Revoking the ability for this site to be used, which has been used safely for 30 years!, stifles our ability to introduce our children and community to the unique experience an event like this brings
Lastly, this flies in the face of the multi-purpose use of our parks and open space. As correctly stated on the website, Bear Creek Lake Park offers something for everyone. I encourage the park hold true to those words and continue to allow this unique event to take place.

Please do not make this sad move, model rocketry is typically a hobby of the scientific minded....why restrain it?
