ABE is the most amazing school in Duval County rich with history and a huge part of the community.

This would be a tragic loss for the community. So many great memories and wonderful teaching.

This school is a wonderful blessing for all the children that attend. They receive excellent instruction by loving teachers and are able to attend school close to their home allowing them to participate in all of the activities offered during and after school hours, What a detrimental idea to our children’s education!

As an AB resident, I would be appalled to have no elementary school in AB. All three of my children attended.

Children first. The districts’ allegedly money-saving proposal actually is financially destructive to AB…it doesn’t serve its states goals. There is so much to say!

I have no words. Why close a community public school with a constant A rating? Community pride, parent participation, excellent staff and administrators. Thriving students.

I oppose the closing of Atlantic Beach Elementary as well as the opening of a charter school.

Find other ways to cut money rather than signing the death warrant for a perfectly effective, reputable, and beloved neighborhood school. Some suggestions include slashing funds for district-level, “supervisory” and “administrative” positions as well exhaustive/superfluous technology and redundant curriculum programs. Furthermore, any costs associated with district-level testing could and should be eliminated prior to closing an outstanding neighborhood school. I’m speechless.
