I have lived in AB for 32 years raising 3 children who all attended ABE! We all have nothing but great memories of our school. My two grand children will also attend ABE within the next two years. As a former teacher at ABE, NBE and Mayport Middle, I am extremely concerned about throwing such young children in to a K-8 environment! This is definitely not in the best interest of our children and will be fought vigorously by our concerned community! Respectfully

I had two children attend that school. One is now a second grade teacher herself, and the other is a nursing student. This school is amazing, and so are the teachers!

Two of my grandchildren attended Atlantic Beach Elementary and a third will (hopefully} start there in a few years. Closing ABE, a very high performing school where a large number, if not the majority, of children can walk or bike to school makes absolutely no sense. Especially since the community recently upgraded the sidewalks, etc. to make it safer. Instead of considering closing ABE, the Duval County School District should be looking into how it can be emulated!

What is the decision process and alternatives as this school is the foundation of the community and my children who attended and now live in the community always dreamed of their children attending to learn, grow and pay it forward for generations to come. Something surely can be done to save the soul of our small community!

Fine school for years and years and with the number of people who live at the Beaches, we need it.
