I would be interested what the reasoning on this is. It kind of seems like a "backwards" move.

Our librarians are an invaluable resource for our children and teachers. Please reconsider this plan and its repercussions for generations of children to come.

I believe librarians are a vital part of education and should not be eliminated.
I can't believe this is even being considered in Dist 12.

I am so sorry that my grandkids will not get the benefit of a great librarian. How do they learn all the wonderful benefits that a library can offer. They can get on a computer at home, but to enjoy a book is so much more enjoyable. And to find that special book you need a person who knows books, age appropriate and for enjoyment or research. Shame on our district.

Why would we would give up a fully qualified, experienced, and proven professional for two part-time clerks?! How can this proposal possibly benefit the students? Two part-time positions may cost the district less, but that's because they are worth less. You get what you pay for.

Librarians are way to important to lose! Kids need help and advice from them, especially since most kids are sent to the library without teachers present. More adults involved in a kids life ALWAYS makes a difference!

Please consider that the librarian often reaches children who are quiet and less social than the majority. I know that my daughter in particular had a teriffic relationship with the (absolutely super) librarian at Skyway which promoted her attachment to her school and improved her overall educational experience in so many ways.

My kids love their librarian at Skyway Elementary. They often talk about going to the library, the stories Mrs. Her (spelling?) tells, the information she passes on and the books she reads to them. I feel like replacing a valuable educator and mentor is a mistake.

I had Mrs. Nelson for 6 years at Cheyenne Mtn. She was a favorite and taught me the enjoyment of reading and how to study. No library???? A sad day in any school district.
