SAVE OUR LANDLINES: Help us maintain full access to our well-established and vital copper landline network.

I have elderly parents who don’t own a mobile phone. They need their landline. Why should they pay for an internet connection just so they can use the phone??

Keeping a landline is a contingency needed for many ppl. It provides resilient communication when all the other networks go down. I do not want my landline changed, it’s just another diktat and a choice taken away from ppl.

Removal of landlines to be replaced by digital phones would mean in a power cut a landline could not be used Many elderly, disabled and other vulnerable minority groups in society are dependent upon landlines, which is reason enough not to remove access to traditional landlines

The telecoms have been dishonest in not fully disclosing the advantages of copper landlines over voip service.

Landlines still work in case of power outage, when VOIP ans cell towers are down. We've had a storm in my living place which left us in the dark for 10 days, and regretted not to have a landline, elderly and isolated persons couldn't be called and taken care of. It is a security crucial element. Internet by itself is not reliable. In addition, landlines don't hurt people with electro sensitivity, and don't damage those who are not yet affected by this health issue. About "saving the planet", landlines consume much less power. (Is there a real concern about saving the planet, or is it just a mediatic gimmick... ?)

Landlines must be preserved; many elderly and vulnerable rely on them as a lifeline. Lots of older people do not have mobile phones and removing landlines will mean a cost in terms of safety & communication.

Please, do everything that can be done to stop this catastrophic move. The health issues with radiation are absolutely disastrous and affect everyone, whether they know it or not. The wireless phones and VOIP have such appalling voice quality that it's impossible to have a proper conversation. This is one of the most important petitions ever, this radiation damages or kills every living being on the planet.

Landlines should be saved so as not to have all our eggs in one basket. Mobile phones may need charging and/or will not be ready during emergencies.

Wired is best, no competition.

Older people especially need access to get help if they need it lots don't have mobiles

Landlines are a life-line for many; in some rural communities, they have limited access to the Internet. Landlines must be preserved; many older people rely on it exclusively. Removing Landlines means more isolation and more unavoidable deaths.

I use my land-line all the time. I do not want to lose it

We need to keep our landlines. I know so many people that use them, particularly those over 70 years old. Its their lifeline!

Landlines are an essential, reliable backup to mobile phone communication. Some people do not have or cannot use a mobile phone or the signal is very poor. Please do not close down the copper analogue landline service.

We weren't consulted. Everyone needs a landline and a public phone. Not everyone has a mobile and there are those that are vulnerable who rely on both of these safe places.

The landline is a necessity for me with my Disability.

Keep our landlines as they are. Elderly folk won’t cope at all !!
