Essential emergency service in a power cut.

Putting the phone lines through WiFi means: a) you can never switch off WiFi b) if the WiFi is down you cannot dial out c) if there is a power cut you cannot dial out. The landline network is fully in place, why remove it?

It is madness to remove our established landlines. We would be stranded in the event of a broadband or electrical blackout, leaving us vulnerable

First of all, wireless cell phones are harmful to health. Second of all, I can't afford a cell phone, so I want to keep my landline phone.

Screwing around with frequencies is more damaging to our health than any boogeyman germ. Copper ground lines are the safest

Keep land lines let old people for one have a connection to the outside world

I do not use a mobile and rely solely on my landline. My Brother is disabled and it would put him in danger if he didn't have a landline.

We need to keep landlines as relying on the Internet is ridiculous, many elderly people do not have any other way of communication and I personally will be returning to landlines for telephone and Internet.

i use mine for phone tv computer & nothing beats it!

I still use my landline and I don't want to use it. It is unnecessary to change a system which works and which is reliable. When Fukushima was hit by the tsunami the only phones that could work were the landline phones - all the cell phones were useless.
