Safety, security and reliability is what we have now. What guarantee without a landline ??- RF is harmful !

Mobile signals don't work everywhere. We need access to a landline in case of emergencies.

We live in a rural area and we have power cuts and last time we couldn't charge our mobile phones but our dial phone was a god send.

People need landlines too. When mobile won’t work or don’t have one at all we need a landline

Landlines are reliable, invaluable for remote locations and elderly people. Also a backup if mobile masts have a problem or are turned off to stop communication.

Very helpful, thank you! There will be a wired Internet connection on offer, but it will be less secure and possibly have higher EMR output. In a way you are lucky that the reception is bad where you are as wireless radiation is harmful to your health.

Mobile phones are also far more harmful to your health.

A lot of older people will be very hard hit by this. And I also personally like having a landline phone

There will be a wired Internet connection, but the EMR output may well be higher plus it will be less reliable if there is a power cut. To keep our landlines as they are is far safer.

The vulnerable will indeed be hit hardest by this. Government has a Duty of Care to protect them - and us all. They must protect our landlines in Law.

Well said! For the sake of "convenience" we are treading a narrower and narrower path....

There will be a wired Internet alternative. But it will not work when there is a Power Cut and it will most likely have a higher EMR output.

That's a very good question, Fiona! The answer is greed - they do not want to maintain the copper network as it is costly. Control may also also come into it.

There will be a wired Internet Alternative. But it will disappear if there is a Power Cut and it could also have more EMR output. The copper landline is more secure, reliable and does not harm our health.

I prefer to use a landline, and when networks go offline it is still possible to contact family and friends.
