I am one of those for which a landline telephone is absolutely vital as I do not have a mobile and will never use one. The telephone is one of the greatest British (Scottish) inventions ever and re-investing in the copper telephone landline network has proven and will continue to prove invaluable.

Leave our landlines alone!

I have friends who suffer from electrosensitivity and, for them, the landline is a lifeline. We should definitely keep this vital communication network, which is a much safer option for many.

Re-investing in our copper telephone landline network will be beneficial for Public Health, Security and Ecology. Copper landlines serve as a necessary, reliable and safe alternative to power-grid dependent, energy-hungry communications systems like VOIP. Landlines are also far more benign than mobile phone services as wireless connections are less secure and harmful to our health.

I have disabilities and complex health conditions and need a landline for emergency services. A mobile I lose and forget to charge

I do not own a mobile and rely heavily on my landline, for phone calls and ethernet computer connection.

Should the Internet or electric supply go down our landlines will not be available

Many people do not or cannot use mobile phones or wifi and internet coverage is still not good in rural areas. Landlines will work in the event of a power cut and it would be completely insane to remove the security and choice of having a landline.

To force us away from landlines will show to be a dangerous mistake. Don't go there.

All wireless is bad for health, put people before profits

I have Electrosensitivity and do not have Wifi in my home (I connect to the internet on a wired Ethernet connection). This plan will literally kill me.

Mobile phone and wireless connectivity exposure is continuing to increasing, resulting in more and more people suffering from electro-sensitivity symptomology. Preserve the safer choice of the landline. You may not think you need it now, I do and you may need it in the future.
