With unreliable Wi-Fi, landlines are essential for all communication.

I cannot use a mobile phone due to electro-hypersensitivity therefore need to keep a landline. BT issued a Stop Sell on copper services in this area but because my copper service degraded so fast alongside the introduction of fibre in other households, that I had to upgrade to FTTC just to retain a phone connection. More expense without any extra benefit - internet is slower! Bring back only copper telephone landlines please! They are reliable, effective and because they do not rely on power, are safe in an emergency. Perhaps there could be a separate, fibre installation for internet so it does not overload the phone network?

It’s absolutely imperative to keep landlines the cost of just using a mobile will be far too expensive. Stop taking our choices away from us!!!

I am electro sensitive and depend on wired connections. I cannot use smartphones. The wired telephone connection is a lifeline due to being housebound, especially if the internet is down. I know others who are in a similar situation.

We should improve landlines not rely on the internet. What happens when the inernet is taken out in cyber war? Or we wake up and take action agains the very high EMFs caused by mobile phones?

Land lines are not only safer and more reliable, they are also a lot healthier. Our dependence on carcinogenic microwave-emitting cell phones (which has been intentionally induced) is costing us the earth.

Landlines are safe and reliable. They do not get lost or cut off if there is a power cut, they are easier to use if you have difficulties with your fingers. They are also much easier to understand than menu based mobile phones. And they do not create any electromagnetic radiation. For many people, not jsut the elderly, they are a vital lifeline.

Landlines are a lifeline! Not everyone can use a mobile phone, and not everyone wants to.

We must all stand together and demand that BT keep the landline option. The more of us who stand up, the more they're likely to pay attention to us!
