In a power cut - no phone. Many have no knowledge of computer or internet and should not be forced into it. Copper telephones are much crisper and always excellent connection while mobiles are very intermittent

Many people will be isolated if landlines are abolished. In addition, mobile phone networks continue to be patchy and unreliable in many areas

There will be a wired fibre connection, but it won't work during a Power cut. Fibre can also increase the EMR output if not well converted. It is also the backdoor into 5G.... Copper is best and we must demand to keep it!

Yes, please share this widely! I am convinced that this is the solution to keeping our health and freedoms. If everyone across the World ditched their little Black Mirror, got a Landline and demanded to keep it we would be halfway there!

I was inspired to do this by an American petition on the same lines! We need a petition like this in every country of the World as this is a Global phenomenon.....

Mobile phones are never entirely reliable, it can be very frustrating to be cut off in the middle of a conversation which rarely happens with the landline. Even if mobile phones were completely reliable, they are a vast drain on natural resources – they require rare minerals to manufacture them which are mostly obtained by exploiting workers in countries such as the Congo and are very detrimental to the environment. Also, companies try to make you replace your mobile phone every couple of years, which is again very bad for the environment, it is virtually impossible to get them fixed, now they have made it so you can’t replace the battery yourself. It sometimes feels like mobile phones are the last gasp of consumer society.

Wider publicity is needed. I only suspected that this would happen but not that this was already planned.

BT should be taken back in to public ownership where public health, not profit is the major motive going forward.
