I thought we need a landline in order to have the internet & wifi anyway! A landline is an important back up to contact people. This should therefore no way be done away with! Stop the madness & think common sense BT!

Its another premeditated step towards tyranny and worsening public health. Must resist. Of course, our signatures will be ignored, but God will call them to account soon.

I'm really worried about this. I rely on my landline as do many others. We need to be making decisions that make us more resilient not less. It's not complicated, we have power cuts, the internet goes down, the landline still works!

This is outrageous to pull the plug on a secure way of communication.

This is awful. Many vulnerable, elderly and disabled people don't own mobile phones, like My 87 year old mum or Internet. This is going to cut off their lifelines and communication.

regular mobile phone use is bad for our health. Many members of staff, whose job in on the telephone, will end up suffering from cancer etc, if they have no choice but to use a mobile phone all day for their job.

The rush to ditch what works well in favour of something that is far less uncertain is foolhardy - and ominous. We need to resist.

This is an appalling prospect. I have family in the UK who don't have internet access or use a mobile phone. I can see Ireland doing this in the future.

The fiber connection will be wired, but it won't work during a Power Cut. Back up alternatives are mainly mobile or a battery pack. None of this is satisfactory + the EMR output will most likely be higher. You will also have to keep your modem on all night if you want a connection through the night.... It is absurd.
