Thank you, Eleanor. The EMR output of a fibre connection will most likely be higher. It will also demand that your modem is on all night if you want to be contactable during night time hours. It is crazy. I hope you can share this petition widely!

There will be a fibre connection, but it won't work during a Power cut and it demands the modem to be kept on all night... The back-ups will be mobile or battery, none of which is ideal..... The copper landline of course works best for all, in particular the Electro Hyper-sensitive and the elderly. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Please share this petition widely!

They won't ignore us if MANY stand up for their rights. Politicians count in votes, the Media counts in reader numbers. Please share this petition to the end of the Earth and back. This is a global phenomenon and we must rise globally, for our Freedoms, our Health AND the Environment. The copper landline is best for all three, it must be retained.

It will all go to fibre, which can be wired, but which will cut off when there is a power cut, so far less reliable. It also demands the modem to be kept on all night, which is ridiculous. Copper is best.

There will be a fibre option, but it will cut out during power cuts and the back-up will be mainly mobile..... You will also have to keep your modem on all night if you want your landline to work 24 hours a day. What a waste of energy, not to mention that we need to minimise ALL exposure to electricity during the night in particular....

Control is the word..... We must retake control and keep it.

There will be a fibre connection which is wired, but the EMR output will most likely be higher at the end point. It will also cut off when there is a Power cut and the alternatives are not good, mainly mobile or battery back-up.... This is why we must keep the copper landline network, nothing beats it for telephone calls.

Thank you for your support! I depends how far you are tucked away! Within reason, the copper landline network should be available to all. It is the most reliable ways of communication and it is not harmful to our health as wireless is.

If it's happening in Britain it may happen in Australia. I say we must have a choice of how we communicate through our telephone networks. I would have a landline but am in the bush, out of town and there are no lines. I don't think telecom would put a line up here just for me... :P

wireless is dangerous as over 20,000 studies have shown.

I am elderly, disabled and have electromagnetic sensitivity, so I am unable to be near cell phones & wireless devices, they make me very ill.

Moving to Internet based telephony will reduce the facility of the telephone system. This will lead to a more controllable service at the detriment of the consumer.

We need to keep the landlines, there should always be a choice and many vulnerable people use them. Mobiles are not always reliable and if the network fails u could be left with nothing.

Land lines are essential communications and at least a back-up for when you do not need 'mobile' or when there is a black-out of networks
