My son uses his portable basketball goal everyday. This neighborhood is for families. Ridiculous move by the HOA.

Kids need to be active and basketball is a great way for them to be active! Please reconsider.

while I'm thinking about it, I also wanted to share that I think it's important that we offer up some specific ideas about how to put some parameters on temporary goal usage so we're not implying a blanket usage and opening a door to some of the previously frowned-upon behavior. these are my thoughts: 1-No temporary goals should be moved into the street or common areas at any time. Temporary goals must remain on private lots 2-Play should not begin on any day before 830am and must be finished by 830pm 3-All temporary goals are required to be kept in good working order and must be free of disrepair what else should we include?

All - Our petition is up over 100 supporters and the support has been stellar. thank you for standing w/ us. I've been in contact w Jim O'Dowd and while he's been helpful, he remains a little confused / surprised that I continue to push for a path to change the bylaw and an understanding of what it'll take to move the ball forward. Earlier today, I feel like we got a breakthrough as he invited me down to the monthly HOA Board meeting to share my concerns and brief the board on the groundswell that is shifting in our favor. So, tomorrow night (Thursday, 8/8 at 7pm) I am headed to the clubhouse to sit in on their meeting and IF I'm called upon to share, they'll allow me the floor to make our case. My wife and I feel like this could be a really amazing opportunity to make a stellar first impression w the board and so, I wanted to invite as many people as possible down to the clubhouse to stand together and let your voice be heard. The meeting starts at 7pm and I hope to see some of you there.

Hi....this petition was implemented as a medium to gather consensus and build momentum for a cause. I don't consider it any kind of legal or binding document and realise there may be folks who support our position who don't live in temple hills. I solely wanted to have a simple way for people to get engaged and share their thoughts and position on the matter. I am very happy with how this platform has worked so far and will suggest it to anyone looking for a platform upon which to build consensus.

I would not sign this and it is also not valid because it is not all people that live in the temple hills community. People that are not living in temple hills do not count towards any final say. You want to get a true “temple hills” vote for this to even ring on anyone’s ears. Otherwise this is a dead petition.

We can't be so blinded as a community/neighborhood that we don't allow the simple joy of a basketball goal. Temple Hills is growing quickly with young families, and when I see kids riding their bikes along the streets or hosting lemonade stands, I think that's what makes our neighborhood so sweet. Keep the goals = keep the families.

This law seems rather absurd in the list of things to worry about. Let the kids have their basketball hoops please! This is a family neighborhood.

I have been in the Real Estate Business and have never heard of of such a by rule,

Let kids play for goodness sakes - the kids are the most important thing we have in our future and the value of playing the game is more than can be imagined!!

We love to see basketball hoops and kids playing.
