Peaks Arena has always been a great part of the community; great for BYU, UVU and all other residents of Utah and surrounding counties. A decision like this would make even a little sense if the place were constantly dead but the case is just the opposite. It's always packed with people and is well utilized. I play hockey often at the rinks in Murray, Kearns, West Valley, Salt Lake, Bountiful and Provo and Provo's is actually the best utilized in my opinion. Reconsider this decision as I, along with many people, feel this way and know it isn't the right decision.

I'm a coach at this rink and cannot believe our elected officials would vote to cut funding to a place that provides so many wonderful activities for our youth. It's the only ice rink in Utah county and the majority of the people who go to the rink will no longer be able to participate in ice skating if it's shut down.

Our kids and families need this facility. This has help my grandson find his place and the love of ice skating and hockey. This facility is desperately needed in our community.

You have to keep the rink. Its part of the city. Activites around the city keep Provo a special place. If you have to, charge more money.

How can you take this away from the kids? The future gold medalists! That place is always packed. There are so many youth there. If I was a commissioner I would be finding a way to make it stay. Let those using it have a stake in the game. Raise the fees a little, but don't just shut it down.

I hate to see an activity that the kids love and takes them away from electronics lost. The drive will be prohibitive.
