I will be using this link to express my disappointment in the county. I don't live in UT but my son plays on the BYU hockey team. Both BYU and UVU use the rink for college classes and for their hockey teams which brings revenue and recognition to the community. The hockey and skating programs at this rink provide a positive outlet and safe place for people of all ages.

We love and frequent the arena. My 3 year old recently started on the ice, and I have 3 others skating on it too. There is not another option nearby for us to continue skating. This would be a huge downfall and detriment to the county to pull funding from this facility that benefits so many. Please reconsider!

Many families and children benefit from this rink and a funding dispute should not shut it down.

Please keep the Peaks Ice Areana in Provo. It would be a total waste to close it and a complete disservice to the community. There has got to be a way to keep it going.

Lovely rink, lovely setting, fabulous ice. Skating is a wholesome activity for so many—children, teens, and adults young and older—and on so many levels (recreational, competitive, spectating). It's even a great way to keep cool in the summer! Am stunned that in a winter sports area—and in a city that is notable for being family-friendly and physically active—that closing the rink would even be a consideration. (!!) The location is ideal for such a large part of the valley as well, not to mention BYU. Please keep Peaks open!

This would be a huge lose to the community and state, I learned to skate at this rink, played and paid for ice time, have gone to many hockey games for all ages, I'm shocked that with it always being used that it can't be ran properly and paid for. Please get some people on board who could make this work and not lose this facility.

I really hope this situation can be resolved quickly my son loves playing hockey at the peaks, as do so many others. It would be a shame to let it close!!!

Hello, I'd like to express support for keeping this rink open! I have fond memories of competing at this rink in 2012. Great facility, great atmosphere.
A few years later my local rink closed and it was to the detriment of the community. Not just skating community, not just hockey community, but the community at large.
A rink is an important facility to athletes who put in sweat and tears to pursue their goals. Most 'greats' start out in their local rinks, where they discover their passion for hockey or figure skating. Not having a facility like that means they will never know what could be, if they have a talent or desire to succeed in an ice sport.
More importantly, a rink is not just a place to pursue athletic activities. It is a place where community can come together - be it families or local youth. It provides an outlet for reasonably priced activity for every socioeconomic background. A rink provides the youth with a fun and safe place to be active and social, which should be a welcome thing in any community.

The county has done the community a huge disservice by backing out of its agreement with Provo City to maintain this facility. Poorly done Bill Lee ...

My 2 grandsons play hockey there 5 days a week. Built up their self esteem and the five of us enjoy skating as a family. I am 71,own a house in Salem was all ready to sell last year but hockey and grandsons kept us here. Peaks was the first thing i got know about utah when my county in Fl. sent me here for the Olympics in 2002 and partial reason to move my family here in 2010 when I retired. Phil redden

Kids need more than movies to go do when they are on break. This is constructive physical activity. We need more things like this for our youth. (It keeps them out of trouble and off the streets) Not take them away!

One of the first dates I had with my wife was ice skating at Peaks Ice Arena. Together with taking a hockey class at BYU and attending the BYU hockey games, Peaks Ice Arena is an important community venue. Don't let it die!

I am a resident of Pleasant Grove in Utah County and regularly use the Peaks arena for Hockey and Ice Skating.
Please keep this facility open!!
