Closing this rink would be a HUGE mistake. The figure skating and hockey community is alive and well in the area around Provo and for many, many people - young and old - skating is a central part of their lives and livelihoods. There are Regional, Sectional and National figure skating competitors who call Peaks Ice Arena their home. Where will these skaters, who represent all of Utah in the sport of figure skating, go to train? Salt Lake City? That's impossible when you train 5 days or more a week. And what about all of the hockey teams? This decision makes absolutely no sense in a Winter Olympic state that has aspirations of bringing the Olympics back. I've read that the rink met it's budget numbers and 2016 was one of it's best years. It would be a slap in the face to the residents of Provo area, and to all skaters and hockey players in the State of Utah, to close down this incredible facility. Our tax dollars go to provide us with these types of venues and if they are doing well, there's absolutely no excuse not to fund them. Keep the rink alive!

My Son plays hockey and has history with this rink! How can you shut down an Olympic Venue??
The community doesn't know the value of what they are not supporting! Very sad.....shameful!!

My son plays hockey for BYU. This has been a great experience for him since returning from his mission.

My little brother has played hockey here for the last few years and it's his life! I don't know what I would do if it I'm not able to continue to see the joy in his eyes while he plays on the rink!

This facility is one of the most successful and used public venues I have seen. It would be shameful on the public official that didn't do everything in their power to keep it a viable during their tenure.

Been playing hockey here all my life! I grew up at this place! Please please please don't go! So many valuable life lessons I've learned through hockey and what it means to be part of a team. nothing but ♡♡♡♡♡please stay!!!!!
